Recopilatorio de cuatro temas (uno, de tres minutos y medio, inédito) publicado en 1987 para conmemorar el décimo aniversario de Neuronium. La primera versión de este disco vio la luz sólo en vinilo, y sin alteración de los masters originales; en 1996 Michel Huygen los remezcla, remasteriza y limpia y reedita este recopilatorio en CD, con otra portada y una pista interactiva. Esta edición digital celebra el vigésimo aniversario de su obra (a diferencia de la análoga -en vinilo-, que conmemoraba el décimo). Enlace en comentarios.

This four track compilation (with a three and half minute unreleased tune) was originally released on vinyl in 1987 to celebrate Neuronium's 10th anniversary. The master tapes used for this version suffered no change at all. In 1996 Michel Huygen remastered, remixed and cleaned them, and re-released the album on CD with an interactive track as a bonus. The cover art changed as well. This digital version celebrates Huygen's 20th anniversary as a composer (unlike the first one, which celebrated its 10th anniversary). Link in comments.

Pepe Marchante, figura y testigo de la era dorada del progresivo ibérico (¡ni más ni menos!) se ha puesto en contacto con este blog para compartir con todos nosotros su más reciente trabajo: What I Need. 956 es una banda que lidera desde su regreso a Cádiz en 2000, ciudad de la que es oriundo. Para quienes no sepan de quién estoy hablando, Pepe Marchante fue otrora guitarrista de los míticos Union Pacific, prometedor grupo hard-sinfónico de finales de los 70 que, lamentablemente, no llegó a grabar más que dos simples de 7" y una colaboración en el recopilatorio Ni Lo Uno, Ni Lo Otro... Sino Todo Lo Contrario... ¡que se incluye en este CD!.

Además de sus andanzas con Union Pacific, Marchante fué también músico de sesión de John Paul Jones (ex-Led Zeppelin), José Luis Perales, Moris, Rocío Jurado, Marvin Hamlisch... entre muchos otros.

Mención aparte merece la atención y buen rollo de Pepe para con Rock Progresivo Español. Primero me mandó el disco en formato WAV a través de un servidor (con lo que ello demora...), pero no funcionó (problemas de compatibilidad), así que finalmente me envió por correo una copia original del CD, gratis, con una dedicatoria escrita a mano en el librillo interior. ¡Mil gracias Pepe!

Por último, para que todos disfrutemos de este disco como se merece, lo he ripeado en formato FLAC (sin pérdida, copia clónica del CD), y MP3, para los menos exigentes. Enlaces en comentarios.

Pepe Marchante, one of the main protagonists and witness of the golden age of the iberian progressive rock era (no less!) got in contact with this blog in order to share with all of us his latest CD: What I Need. 956 is the band he leads since his comeback to Cádiz (Andalusia, southern Spain) in 2000. For those who don't know who am I talking about, Pepe Marchante was once a member of the legendary and promising Union Pacific, a hard-symphonic prog band that only managed to release two 7" singles, plus a collaboration on the Ni Uno, Ni Lo Otro... Sino Todo Lo Contrario compilation... which is included on this CD!

Besides his work on Union Pacific, Marchante played as a session musician with the likes of John Paul Jones (ex-Led Zeppelin) and Marvin Hamlisch, plus spanish superstars José Luis Perales, Rocío Jurado and Moris, among many others.

Special mention deserves Pepe's attention towards Spanish Progressive Rock. First, he sent the album on WAV format, but it didn't work (compatibility issues), so he finally shipped me an original copy of the album by standard mail, for free, with a lovely hand written dedication inside. Thanks a hell, Pepe!

In order to let it be heard as it deserves, I have ripped the album on FLAC format (a lossless, clonic copy of the CD), and MP3, for the less demanding. Links in comments.

Another issue of this album exists under the name "Droit Au Coeur" (french translation for the album title, which means Straight To The Heart). It has the same cover, except for that detail.

This CD compiles, mainly, songs from the albums Soplo Vital and Música Para La Buena Mesa, plus 3 new tracks that make 10 minutes. Even though it is labeled as a Michel Huygen solo album, it includes songs from Neuronium albums as well. In any case (solo or Neuronium stuff), this compilation showcases the new age side of the artist. The tracklist and procedence of each track is as follows:

One shot band. Not to be confused with Goma (without 2), nor the punk band of the same name.

Even though Goma 2 was formed in Galicia (Spain), the lyrics are in portuguese, a language also spoken in that state. Many call it "Gallego" (Galician) instead of portuguese. Link in comments.

Proyecto "A" - (Sin nombre) (VINILO) / (Nameless) (VINYL)

Primer grupo de Josep "Kitflus" Mas (ex-Iceberg, ex-Pegasus y colaborador de, entre muchos otros, Joan Manuel Serrat). Contaba con 16 años cuando militó en esta banda, que se disuelve tras publicar este único disco.

La siguiente información ha sido gentilmente cedida por Electrofuzzer del blog Sonidos En Órbita:

"PROYECTO "a" es un disco formado por Frank David, seudonimo de Frank Dubé. La lista de los musicos (excepto de Kitflus - Georges I-) es desconocida, ya que usan seudonimos en el disco. Me gaste 120 € en el LP Promo. y 17 € en el single.Es un disco sensacional.

El disco se grabo en los estudios RCA de Madrid pero los musicos de sesion, la mayoria son de procedencia Barcelonesa.

Se grabo en el 69 y se edito en el 1970, y en el 1971 se extrajo el single con el tema "A Pluton" , con letras alternativas, se reemplaza el Pluton! por Putón!

Por finalizar Frank David en 1971, se fue a Alemania a gravar un disco electronico llamado Blues and Electronics bajo el nombre de "The Frank David Selection", con Okko Becker (el de OKKO SITAR & Electronics) al MOOG, y el jazzman Herb Gellerfirmado por el sello BASF. Que lo subiré a mi blog, "Espacios Sonoros".

Mi copia de Proyecto A tambien la subire, ya que lo tengo MINT y es una copia promo, con la portada doble, y los dos bonus tracks del single.

Tambien como anecdota, pq conozco a Frank personalmente, hizo un cortometraje de 11 minutos con una super8 llamado PROYECTO A, con Andres do Barro y Encarnita Polo por ahi 1970, era com el viaje de setas de syd barrett."

Josep "Kitflus" Mas' (ex-Iceberg, ex-Pegasus and usual contributor of Joan Manuel Serrat, among many others) first band. The band broke up after releasing this only album. He was 16 then.

The following information has been provided by courtesy of Electrofuzzer of Sonidos En Órbita:

"PROYECTO "a" is an album masterminded by Frank David, aka Frank Dubé. The names of the musicians involved are unknown (apart from Kitflus), since they all used pseudonyms. I spent 120 € on a promo copy of the LP and 17 € on a single. It's a sensational album.

The album was recorded at the RCA studios un Madrid, yet most of the session musicians hailed from Barcelona. It was recorded in '69 and released one year later; in 1971 the single "A Plutón" (To Pluton) was released with alternative lyrics, replacing the word "Plutón" (Pluton) with "Putón" (whore or slut).

In 1971 Frank David goes to Germany to make an electronic album called Blues And Electronics under the "The Frank David Selection" monniker, with Herb Geller and Okko Becker (of OKKO Sitar & Electronics fame) on the moog. The album was released on the defunct BASF label. I'll upload it to my blog, "Espacios Sonoros".

I will upload my copy of Proyecto "A" as well, since it is a promo in mint shape, with gatefold cover, as well as the two tracks on the single.

Another anecdote: I know Frank personally and he told me he did a 11 minute short movie in 1970 called Proyecto A, with a super8. It featured Andrés Do Barro and Encarnita Polo and it looked like that famous Syd Barrett's trip short film."
